Yesterday's field trip to CSUN was amazing! We spoke with the dean and associate dean of engineering, toured the Oviatt library, got CSUN ID cards, saw the new formula 1 car and got to try out our skills on West Point Bridge software. The engineering students who showed us their car and the bridge activity were gracious, helpful and made us feel welcome. Everyone represented the CSUN Engineering Program very well and I am certain that many students are now considering CSUN as their first choice for college! Many thanks to CSUN Engineering for the best and most informative field trip yet

There is a West Point bridge design contest every year using the software we used at CSUN.  Download the software and start practicing now! There are tutorials, and the real contest starts on January 10th - Let's try to win the college scholarship or a laptop!

  • Yea! The application process is complete!
  • There is a field trip to the CSUN Engineering Program today, from 8:45 to 2:30. Meet in the quad at 8:30 with lunch or money to purchase a lunch, and your walking shoes.
MSE 101 is a CSUN Introduction to Engineering course that is taught online, with a lab that is taught on our campus. Students who take this course receive CSUN student privileges, and earn college credits. Tuition is covered through an Engineering department grant, and the CSUN application fee is reduced to $30.

MSE 101 is offered to juniors and seniors who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and complete the required applications.

Students must complete both a paper application (CSUN Engineering class application for Fall 2011) and an online application -->(www.csumentor.edu) no later than 11/19/2010 for the fall semester 2011 course. The written application must be accompanied by $30.00, an official sealed transcript and an unofficial transcript, and handed to me, Dr. Scott, in room 420 before the deadline.

Please come see me if you have questions! Questions specific to the application forms, online application or the class itself may also be sent to Tesha Hagler in the Access program. Her email is latesha.hagler@csun.edu.
